This role supports customer questions and maintains files with proper documentation. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in underwriting, strong communication, and knowledge of lending regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required and three years of underwriting experience.
• Experience with consumer and residential lending practices.
• Knowledge of related legal and regulatory standards and required loan documentation.

Responsibilities

• Receive, review, and coordinate loan functions within authority limits.
• Evaluate and verify loan applications and credit criteria; review debt ratios.
• Verify employment and income; determine collateral value and homeownership when required.
• Approve loans within authority; request additional information as needed.
• Ensure loan files are properly prepared and documented per product requirements.
• Review terms, rates, discounts, and apply special handling as required.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers and contractors; resolve questions.
• Coordinate with area personnel and management; attend meetings as required.
• Complete reports, document loans, and attach supporting information.
