Job summary

AdaptHealth seeks a Respiratory Support Technician to provide comprehensive direct and indirect patient care across home, office, and hospital environments in accordance with all policies. This role serves as a subject matter expert, conducts new hire training, and mentors team members.

You will collaborate with Respiratory Department staff to instruct, troubleshoot, and support CPAP/BIPAP equipment, perform follow-up calls, and ensure proper documentation for billing and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Medicare-certified HME environment preferred.
• Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME services preferred.
• Ability to work under time constraints and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Confidentiality and HIPAA compliance knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Respiratory Department Staff, CPAP/BIPAP Program Managers, and Operations Managers to provide equipment instruction, service, and troubleshooting.
• Set up and fit PAP patients with appropriate equipment and masks, communicating instructions clearly.
• Conduct patient follow-up calls and visits to ensure optimal care outcomes and escalate urgent needs.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and basic repairs per policy and manufacturer guidelines.
• Report equipment hazards and incidents per policy.
• Maintain knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and products and services.
• Complete all required paperwork, including delivery tickets and safety checklists, accurately and timely.
• Develop reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and participate in required training.
• Adhere to PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling procedures.
• Assist with quality improvements and engage with referral sources as needed.
