Job summary

AdaptHealth, LLC is seeking a Respiratory Support Technician to provide comprehensive patient care across home, office, and hospital environments. You will collaborate with respiratory teams to set up PAP therapy, train patients, and monitor outcomes, ensuring compliant documentation and safety.

The role emphasizes empathy, confidentiality, and adherence to HIPAA while supporting reimbursement and billing processes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in Medicare certified HME environment is a plus.
• Knowledge of respiratory therapy or DME services preferred.
• Valid, unrestricted driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Respiratory staff to provide equipment instruction and troubleshooting for respiratory patients.
• Set up PAP equipment and masks, communicating instructions clearly to patients.
• Conduct follow-up calls/visits to ensure optimal care outcomes and escalate urgent needs.
• Perform routine maintenance checks and simple repairs per policy and manufacturer guidelines.
• Report equipment hazards and incidents per company policy.
• Maintain knowledge of current Respiratory Programs and HME products/services.
• Complete paperwork accurately including delivery tickets and ABNs as applicable.
• Develop basic reimbursement knowledge to ensure proper billing documentation.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and complete required training.
• Follow PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials procedures.
• Assist quality improvement initiatives and collaborate with referral sources.
