Job summary

Elara Caring in Liberty, Indiana is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to deliver home-based therapy. You will implement treatment plans, help patients improve mobility and independence, and educate families on home exercise programs.

Requirements include an Indiana PTA license, graduation from an accredited PTA program, and 6+ months of preferred PTA experience. A valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are required.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for Indiana.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program approved by the American Therapy Association.
• 6+ months experience as a PTA is preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license or have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines
