Job summary

Elara Caring seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home-based care and help patients improve mobility and independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

Required is an active PTA license in the state, graduation from an accredited PTA program, and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds with reliable transportation for travel to patient homes. Six months of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted Physical Therapist Assistant license valid in state of practice.
• Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Six or more months of experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant preferred.
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including transfers.
• Valid driver’s license or reliable transportation to travel between patient homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist and per care plan.
• Help patients improve mobility, strength, function and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs.
• Teach safe use of assistive devices (canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, orthotics).
• Deliver high-quality care per physician orders and clinical standards.
