Job summary

Alabama HomeCare of Cullman, part of LHC Group within the Optum family, seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to provide treatment, exercise instruction, and patient education per the plan of care. Responsibilities include following state laws, assisting with active and passive exercises, observing patient progress, and coordinating with the health care team.

Weekend rotation and mobility tasks are required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Weekend rotation availability.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance or access to transportation.
• CPR certification preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and supervise plan of care as defined by supervising PT.
• Instructs and aids patients in exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observes and reports patient response to treatment and coordinates with the health care team.
• Educates patient, family, and teammates in therapy areas within PTA scope.
