Job summary

Optum's Alabama HomeCare of Cullman seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home health patients. You will implement the plan of care, guide patients through therapeutic exercises, educate families, and coordinate with a supervising PT and care team.

Role requires weekend availability, Alabama licensure, and a valid driver's license. Compensation includes per-visit and hourly pay components with a total cash target range stated by the employer.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification or ability to complete within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility.
• Weekend availability to support home health visits.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and plan of care defined by supervising PT.
• Instruct and aid patients in active and passive exercises and gait training.
• Observe and report patient responses to treatment to the supervising PT and care team.
• Educate patients, family, and caregivers on therapy within the PTA scope.
• Function in varied home settings with diverse patient needs.
