Job summary

Alabama HomeCare of Cullman, part of the Optum family, is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to execute treatment plans and provide exercise instruction aimed at improving patient well-being under supervision.

Responsibilities include following PT-defined plans, performing therapeutic exercises, documenting responses, and educating patients and families. A weekend rotation is required; CPR certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensed to assist in physical therapy in state of practice.
• Valid driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to dependable transportation or public transit.
• Available to work a weekend rotation.

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and supervise by PT; perform only trained procedures and suggest changes to plan of care.
• Instructs and aids patients in active/passive exercise, gait, ADL, transfers, and prosthetic training.
• Observes patient response, documents changes, and coordinates care with the healthcare team.
• Educates patient, family, and caregivers on therapy within the scope of physical therapy assistant.
• Function in diverse home settings regardless of age, race, creed, or disability.
