Job summary

Optum is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support home care patients under the direction of a supervising Physical Therapist. You will implement the plan of care, provide exercise instruction, and educate patients and families to improve well-being.

You will follow state regulations, assist with patient mobility, and collaborate with the healthcare team. Weekend availability, a valid license, and reliable transportation are required.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation

Responsibilities

• Follow state laws and supervising PT guidance; perform only authorized procedures.
• Instruct patients in active and passive exercise, gait, ADL, and mobility training.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment to the supervising PT and care team.
• Educate patient, family, and health team on therapy within scope of practice.
• Function effectively in diverse home care settings regardless of patient background
