Job summary

Elara Caring in Indiana is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team delivering in-home therapy. You will implement treatment plans under supervision, help patients improve mobility, monitor progress, and educate families on home therapy techniques.

Requirements include a current PTA license valid for Indiana, graduation from an accredited PTA program, 6+ months of experience preferred, able to lift up to 50 pounds, and a valid driver's license or reliable transportation to travel

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted PTA license valid for the state of work.
• Graduate of an accredited PTA program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association
• 6+ months experience as a PTA is preferred
• Ability to frequently lift, push, pull, and support up to 50 pounds, including positioning or transferring patients and moving equipment
• Must possess a valid driver's license, maintain an acceptable driving record, OR have reliable transportation to travel between patient homes and assigned work locations

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy services according to the treatment plan established by the Physical Therapist.
• Help patients work toward therapy goals that improve mobility, function, and independence.
• Monitor patient progress and promptly report changes in condition or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home therapy programs and techniques to support continued progress.
• Teach patients and families how to safely use assistive devices, including canes, walkers, wheelchairs, prosthetics, and orthotics.
• Deliver safe, high-quality therapy services in accordance with physician orders, clinical standards, and state practice guidelines
