Job summary

Amedisys, part of the Optum family, is hiring a Per Diem Occupational Therapy Assistant to provide skilled services to patients in their homes and support functional independence. You will work under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans and document outcomes.

Required are ACOTE-accredited OTA education, NBCOT eligibility or certification, current state OTA license, CPR, and at least 1 year of OTA experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an occupational therapy assistant program, ACOTE-accredited.
• Eligible to take or has completed the NBCOT entry-level exam.
• Current license to practice as an OTA in the assigned state.
• Current CPR certification.
• 1+ years of OTA experience to ensure safe patient care.
• If less than one year, regional clinical leaders' approval and mentoring required.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled interventions under OT direction and supervision.
• Document visits per guidelines for the clinical record.
• Observe patient responses and report changes to the supervising OT and staff.
• Provide resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promote wellness through occupational engagement.
• Be aware of community resources/services.
• Recommend follow-up care with the admitting care center.
• Maintain current OT knowledge for care coordination.
• Other duties as assigned.
