Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to deliver skilled in-home therapy under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The OTA will implement treatment plans, monitor progress, and document outcomes in compliance with physician orders and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as an occupational therapy assistant (state-specific).
• Graduate of an OTA program accredited by ACOTE (AOTA).
• Eligible for entry-level NBCOT examination or already certified.
• One year related OTA experience preferred to ensure safe service delivery.
• If <1 year experience, regional clinical leaders must approve with mentoring/residency in place.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides skilled interventions under the supervision of an OT.
• Documents each visit per AOTA guidelines and regulatory standards.
• observes, records and reports patient responses to treatment.
• Provides patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
• Promotes wellness and occupational engagement.
• Demonstrates knowledge of community resources/services.
• Makes follow-up care recommendations with the admitting care center.
• Keeps abreast of OT trends and knowledge for service and coordination.
• Other duties as assigned.
