Job summary

UnitedHealth Group's Optum family seeks an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) to deliver skilled services in patients' homes, aiding functional independence under an OT's supervision. You will implement treatment plans, document outcomes per AOTA guidelines, and contribute to safe, effective rehabilitation in the home care setting while coordinating with caregivers and clinical staff.

Required are ACOTE-accredited OTA training, state licensure, NBCOT eligibility, CPR, and 1+ year of OTA

Qualifications

Graduate of ACOTE-accredited OTA program.
Current license to practice as OTA in the assigned state.
Eligible to take NBCOT certification exam.
Current CPR certification.
1+ year OTA experience or approval by regional leaders for less than 1 year.
Mentorship/residency path if experience is under one year.

Responsibilities

Provide skilled interventions under supervision of an occupational therapist per care plan.
Document each visit following AOTA guidelines for the patient record.
Observe and report changes in patient condition to OT, physician and staff.
Offer patient/caregiver resources for future ADL/IADL needs.
Promote wellness through engagement in meaningful activities.
Identify community resources/services for patient support.
Coordinate follow-up care with admitting care center.
Stay current with OT trends to improve care and documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
