Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to perform treatments and provide exercise instruction and patient education to enhance well-being under the plan of care. You will follow state laws, work with a supervising PT, and coordinate with the healthcare team in home care settings.

The role includes performing active and passive exercises, gait and mobility training, and patient/family instruction.

Qualifications

• Current, licensed, registered, or certified to assist in the practice of physical therapy in state of practice.
• Current driver's license and vehicle insurance, access to a dependable vehicle, or public transportation
• Available to work a weekend rotation
• CPR certification preferred or ability to complete within 90 days of hire
• Ability to perform physical tasks required for patient care, including lifting, transferring, and assisting with mobility

Responsibilities

• Following state-specific laws governing physical therapy in home care and implementing the plan of care defined by supervising PT
• Instructing and aiding patients in active and passive exercise, muscle re-education, gait, functional, ADL, transfer, safety, and prosthetic training
• Observing, recording, and reporting patient responses to treatment and coordinating care with the healthcare team
• Instructing patients, family, caregiver, and others in therapy within the PTA scope
• Functioning effectively in diverse home settings regardless of patient demographics
