Job summary

Acute Home Healthcare in Orlando, FL is seeking a Home Health Intake Coordinator to join our team. You will process referrals, obtain authorizations, and coordinate scheduling for home health services while supporting PCPs and insurers.

Ideal candidates have experience in medical office administration, strong Microsoft Office skills, and a commitment to excellent customer service. On-call weekend availability is required to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Outstanding customer service skills
• Doctor's office administrative experience (2-3 years)

Responsibilities

• Process new referrals in a timely and courteous fashion
• Enter authorizations and schedules in System
• Obtain re-authorizations for additional homecare services
• Follow-up on requests from the PCP for services
• Contact and receive authorizations from insurance company
• Contact clinicians (PT's, OT's, ST's) to schedule services
• Request home health orders from PCP's, hospitals, and specialist
• Review charts for procedural accuracy and efficiency
• Receive and forward faxes to correct departments
• Confirm patient's PCP's
• Assist patients with any questions, comments, or concerns
• Develop good working relationships with PCP staff and insurance companies
• Availability to work on call on weekends
