Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Coder II in Florida to review and code for home health and hospice using clinical notes, including H&P, recent discharge summaries, and progress notes.

You will document coding recommendations, support the denial team, and ensure timely OASIS reviews and CMS submissions.

This role requires a Coding certification, minimum two years of home health coding experience, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years professional fee coding experience required with one-year minimum experience in coding the applicable specialties for Home Health and Hospice.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and codes from clinical notes.
• Maintains or exceeds established productivity and quality standards.
• Work with A/R team on follow up and resolution of coding-related denials/rejections.
• Maintain current knowledge of coding guidelines and relevant federal regulations.
• Enhances professional growth through in-service meetings and training.
• Maintain accurate and timely review of OASIS time points and related documentation for CMS submissions.
• Utilizes available tools and training strategies to improve outcomes.
• Address edits from SHP alerts and SHP reports with QA support.
