Job summary

HCA Healthcare is seeking a Home Health Coder II to review and code home health and hospice clinical notes, including H&P and discharge summaries, and to document coding recommendations. You will work with the team to resolve coding issues and ensure timely submissions.

Requirements include a minimum of two years of professional fee coding experience with Home Health/Hospice, coding certification, and knowledge of medical terminology.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years professional fee coding experience with one-year Home Health/Hospice experience.
• Coding certification required; OASIS certification preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy & physiology is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews and codes from clinical notes for home health and hospice.
• Maintains or exceeds productivity and quality standards.
• Collaborates with A/R to resolve coding denials/rejections and suggests edits.
• Maintains current knowledge of coding guidelines and federal regulations.
• Participates in in-service meetings and educational programs to grow professionally.
• Reviews OASIS time points and related documentation for timely submissions to CMS.
• Uses tools to develop training strategies and improve outcomes.
• Addresses SHP alerts and reports with QSS and/or Team Lead.
