Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an RN to join the Home Therapies team in Rio Grande, PR. You will train patients and families for home dialysis, ensure safety protocols, and coordinate with physicians and staff to deliver high-quality care.

Qualified candidates have RN licensure, 1+ year medical-surgical and dialysis experience, CPR certification, and teaching ability to support ESRD patients at home.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
• ICU experience preferred.
• Minimum of one year dialysis experience preferred, peritoneal experience preferred.
• Successful completion of dialysis therapies training course.
• Competent with Home Therapies equipment.
• CPR certification with ongoing maintenance.
• Icd-9 coding training is preferred.
• Demonstrated teaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and effective home dialysis therapy training and oversight.
• Rotate with licensed staff to ensure coverage and participate in staff meetings.
• Educate patients and families on home therapies and ESRD treatment.
• Document patient data, orders, and treatment parameters in the system.
• Communicate patient issues to physicians and management as needed.
• Admit new patients and participate in CQI activities as required.
• Assist in equipment maintenance and home therapy safety education.
• Coordinate with labs for specimen handling and results.
