Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Home Therapies team in the United States. You will train patients and families on home dialysis therapies, assess home environments, and ensure safe delivery of care according to policy and CQI processes.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of medical-surgical nursing experience with dialysis exposure, current RN licensure, and CPR certification. Travel between facilities may be required and ongoing education provided.

Qualifications

• RN license current in the appropriate state.
• Minimum 1 year medical-surgical nursing experience; ICU experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year dialysis experience; peritoneal experience preferred.
• Successfully complete dialysis therapies training.
• CPR certification required.
• Icd-9 coding training.
• Demonstrated teaching abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide training and oversight of home dialysis therapies.
• Rotate with other licensed staff to ensure coverage.
• Participate in staff training and new staff orientation.
• Participate in monthly CQI meetings and CQI activities.
• Educate patients and families on home therapies and ESRD.
• Document patient data and enter into Medical Information System.
• Coordinate transfer of patients to hemodialysis clinics when needed.
• Maintain competency with emergency procedures including CPR.
