Job summary

FirstLight Home Care in Encinitas, CA seeks an experienced Home Care Operations Manager to lead daily operations, optimize staffing, and partner with ownership to scale the business. You will implement efficient processes, drive caregiver recruitment, onboarding, and retention to support rapid growth.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, process design, and a caregiver-first culture within a growing San Diego County operation.

Qualifications

• Professional experience in non-medical/private-duty home care is required.
• Experience using WellSky or a comparable home care management software platform is required.
• You must already be comfortable working within a home care management system for scheduling, caregiver management, client management, documentation, and day-to-day operations.
• Your current title is not as important as your experience; leadership roles in home care are valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead the day-to-day operations of the home care organization.
• Manage, support, develop, and hold the office team accountable.
• Build stronger operational processes and systems as the company grows.
• Oversee caregiver scheduling, staffing, call-offs, and coverage.
• Strengthen caregiver recruiting, onboarding, retention, and workforce capacity.
• Develop better processes around caregiver availability, utilization, and overtime.
• Maintain high service levels and responsiveness for clients and families.
• Ensure operational issues are followed through to resolution and policy compliance.
