Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Chaplain to join the interdisciplinary team and address the spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers and staff. The Chaplain provides pastoral care interventions and counseling guided by spiritual assessment and sensitivity to diverse beliefs.

Required ordination or commission and endorsement; 5+ years pastoral experience preferred (2+ in clinical settings) with CPE credentials. Strong collaboration and compassionate, authentic presence are essential.

Qualifications

• Ordination or Commission to function in pastoral care.
• Endorsement and in good standing with faith body.
• Five years pastoral experience preferred – two in a clinical setting.
• CPE: at least 1 unit (400 hours); preferably two or more.
• Equivalencies to CPE may include relevant certifications or advanced degrees.
• Knowledge of spiritual dynamics of illness, loss and death.
• Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
• Commitment to professional growth and development.
