Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Chaplain to join an interdisciplinary team to focus on the spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers and staff. You will provide pastoral care interventions and counseling, guiding care with sensitivity to diverse beliefs and values.

Qualified candidates must be ordained or commissioned, endorsed by their faith body, with five years of pastoral experience preferred (two in clinical settings) and appropriate CPE or equivalent education.

Qualifications

• Ordination or Commission to function in pastoral care.
• Endorsement and good standing with faith body.
• Five years of pastoral experience preferred; two in clinical setting.
• CPE accreditation or equivalent clinical pastoral education.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care interventions and pastoral counseling to patients, families and staff.
• Address spiritual dynamics of illness, loss and death with sensitivity.
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team to support holistic care.
• Engage volunteers and caregivers in spiritual support activities.
