Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Chaplain to join the multidisciplinary team and address the spiritual needs of patients, families, caregivers, staff and volunteers. Qualifications

• Ordination or Commission to function in pastoral care
• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution
• Master's of Divinity or equivalent from an accredited seminary/theological school required
• Minimum 5 years pastoral experience preferred (2+ in clinical setting)
• 1 unit (400 hours) of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred, two or more
• Equivalencies to CPE may include supervision, peer group; certifications; or advanced degrees
• Knowledge and skill in dealing with illness, loss and death dynamics
• Ability to function as a member of an interdisciplinary team
• Commitment to professional growth and development

• Provide pastoral care interventions and pastoral counseling
• Support patients, families, caregivers and staff with spiritual needs
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to integrate spiritual care in treatment plans
• Promote authentic, compassionate and culturally sensitive spiritual support
