Job summary

VITAS Healthcare is seeking a Chaplain to join an interdisciplinary team delivering spiritual care to patients, families and staff in a hospice setting. The chaplain provides pastoral counseling and care tailored to diverse beliefs and values while supporting volunteers and caregivers.

Qualified candidates will hold ordination or commission, be endorsed and in good standing with their faith body, and have CPE experience (1 unit minimum, 400 hours, preferably more).

Qualifications

• Ordination or Commission to function in a ministry of pastoral care.
• Endorsement of and good standing with governing faith body.

Responsibilities

• Provide pastoral care interventions and pastoral counseling as determined by spiritual assessment and setting.
• Work as part of an interdisciplinary team to support patients, families, caregivers, staff and volunteers.
• Demonstrate authentic demeanor, compassion, and skill in handling illness, loss, and death dynamics.
