Job summary

Big Minds, Tiny Hands in New York City is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher with Birth–2nd Grade certification to provide home-based instruction to children birth–3 with developmental delays through Early Intervention. This fee-for-service role offers flexible scheduling and competitive rates.

You will implement IFSP-goal based strategies in the child's natural environment, support cognitive, communication, social-emotional and adaptive development, and coach caregivers to carry over

Qualifications

• NYS Certification in Special Education Birth–2nd Grade is required.
• Experience with young children in Early Intervention or preschool preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently in home-based settings.

Responsibilities

• Provide Special Instruction services in the child’s home or community setting.
• Implement individualized strategies based on IFSP goals.
• Support cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive development.
• Use play-based and routine-based teaching approaches.
• Coach and support caregivers to carry over strategies at home; complete session notes and progress reports in a timely manner.
