Job summary

The Lt. Col. Luke Weathers - Jr. - VAMC in Memphis, TN is recruiting for a Home Bases Primary Care (HBPC) Medical Director to lead the HBPC team and ensure high-quality geriatrics and extended care for veterans.

The position is full-time and reports to the Associate Chief of Staff-Geriatrics and Extended Care, with education debt reduction and recruitment incentives available. Collaboration with program leadership and community partners is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required.
• MD or DO from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US.
• Residency training leading to board eligibility.
• Geriatrics/EC experience preferred.
• Proficiency in English.
• Maintaining a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Oversee medical care delivered by the HBPC team at Memphis VAMC.
• Provide medical leadership to the HBPC program.
• Collaborate with program leadership and HBPC team to ensure high-quality care.
• Supervise physicians and mid-level providers in the HBPC program.
• Manage clinical supervision and patient care within HBPC.
• Coordinate education for medical students, residents, and fellows.
• Engage with community home health and hospice agencies as needed.
• Support policy development and program improvement efforts.
