Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to implement and maintain advanced imaging technologies across a large health system. This home‑based role leads CT and MRI protocol development, collaborates with vendors, guides imaging initiatives, and advises leadership on equipment and purchasing decisions while promoting ALARA principles.

The position reports to the Director of Radiation Safety and emphasizes ongoing professional development and interdepartmental collaboration

Qualifications

MS in Physics, Health Physics, Radiological Physics, Medical Physics or related field required.
PhD preferred.
Texas License in Medical Physics is required (per the ad).
Board Certification by radiology or nuclear medicine or health physics boards desirable.

Responsibilities

Provide expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
Serve as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X‑Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
Develop and evaluate radiation safety policies and procedures to minimize exposure.
Oversee radiation safety committees and regulatory surveys and inspections.
Coordinate acceptance testing of imaging equipment and advise on shielding and system performance.
