Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Medical Physicist to implement and maintain advanced imaging technologies across a large health system. You will lead CT and MRI protocol development, collaborate with vendors on new technologies, and guide imaging initiatives while advising leadership on equipment and purchases.

You will report to the Director of Radiation Safety and help shape a proactive, compliant, and growth-oriented medical physics program in a home-based role.

Qualifications

Master of Science in Physics or related field required.
PhD preferred.
Texas License in Medical Physics specialty required.

Responsibilities

Provides expertise in Diagnostic Radiological Physics and Medical Nuclear Physics.
Serves as primary Radiation Safety Officer for X-Ray Registration and RAM licenses.
Assists in development and evaluation of radiation safety policies to minimize exposure.
Oversees Equipment Performance Evaluations for x-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and other imaging equipment.
Performs dosimetry calculations and shielding calculations to meet regulatory standards.
Works with architects to optimize radiation safety and ALARA principles in space planning.
Participates in radiation safety committees and regulatory surveys.
