Job summary

Mazak Corporation is seeking a Field Service Engineer to operate from a home base with regional duties, primarily in the Seattle, WA area. Overnight travel to customer sites is required, and the role reports to the Western Technology Center in Gardena, CA.

Essential tasks include installing machines, diagnosing mechanical/electrical/software problems, testing operations, training customers, and documenting work. 2-year tech training and 3–7 years Field Service experience are expected.

Qualifications

• 2-year technical training in electronics, mechanical, or machine tool assembly.
• 3–7 years Field Service experience.
• Ability to read engineering drawings.
• Experience with PLC, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs daily; occasional heavier lifting.
• Strong problem-solving and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Install machines and accessories at customer sites with full setup.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software issues on machines.
• Test operation after installation or repair.
• Train customers on machine functions.
• Complete installation/repair reports documenting work.
• Travel overnight or for multiple nights; travel from home.
