Job summary

NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development is seeking a Temporary Grant-Funded Community Coordinator to support the HOME-ARP program in the Division of Fiscal Affairs. The role focuses on payment processing for Landlord Housing Assistance Payments and TBRA, with emphasis on accuracy, compliance, and inter-unit coordination.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree with relevant experience or equivalent combination, excellent organizational skills, and proficiency with Emphasys Elite

Qualifications

• A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related duties.
• High school graduation or equivalent with six years of related experience.
• Education/experience equivalent to the above, with at least one year of applicable experience.

Responsibilities

• Review and desk audit HOME-ARP payment adjustments.
• Examine supporting documents for accuracy using Emphasys Elite.
• Compute retroactive payment subsidies and rent adjustments.
• Log adjustments from various units within HAS.
• Approve or delete adjustments and HAP payments as warranted.
• Handle returned HAP subsidies and checks; coordinate with Comptroller’s Office.
• Contact vendors about payment addresses and re-mailing checks.
• Serve as liaison for vendor inquiries related to HAP subsidies and TBRA.
