Blue Origin, Merritt Island, FL, is seeking an HLS Autonomy Software Systems Engineer II for the Lunar Permanence program. You will help define systems and software for lunar lander programs, collaborating with FSW, GN&C, and controls teams to ensure safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities include state machine definitions, requirements and test artifacts, fault management collaboration, and HIL/SIL test support. A strong C/C++ or Python background and 2–5 years' experience are required.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2-5 years professional experience.
• Experience with C/C++ or Python scripting.
• Demonstrated experience developing software requirements and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with state machine definition, controls theory, or MATLAB Simulink (Stateflow exposure preferred).
• Experience working on a cross-functional engineering team.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Independently develop state machine definitions (Simulink/Stateflow) for subsystems.
• Write and maintain software requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
• Participate in fault management discussions and contribute to FMEA-driven requirements.
• Support HIL/SIL test setup and execution; draft test procedures.
• Work with FSW, GN&C, or controls engineers on requirements flowdown.
• Develop tool, test, and verification software as needed.
