Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an HLS Autonomy Software Systems Engineer III for the Lunar Permanence program in Denver. You will collaborate with systems engineers, developers, and program managers to define autonomous software requirements and verification strategies, guiding a team toward safe, reliable lunar missions.

You will apply strong software engineering and MBSE practices, ensuring thorough testing and integration across spacecraft disciplines.

Qualifications

BS or higher in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
5+ years professional experience.
Experience in developing software requirements, verification plans, and test cases.
Experience across systems and software disciplines, leading cross functional groups.
Experience in spacecraft design and operations.
Experience with fault management design.
Proficiency in Python and JavaScript.
U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or authorized to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

Define system autonomy behaviors and software requirements with engineers and PMs.
Lead team members on software systems engineering best practices.
Set direction for requirements, verification events, and test cases.
Manage hardware-software integration problems across vehicle and mission design teams.
Ensure safety-critical software development process is properly captured for safe missions.
