Responsibilities

• Orients and embeds tissue in paraffin per standardized methods.
• Uses microtome and/or cryostat to cut tissue to exacting measures.
• Performs routine and special stains.
• Labels and distributes slides to pathologists and files slides.
• Performs and documents equipment maintenance and quality control.
