Job summary

  • Labels and distributes slides to pathologists.

Education and Experience
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree with one year of experience in histopathology.

  • Ability to properly orient, embed, and cut tissue using microtome and cryostat.
  • Understanding of tissue processing.

  • Ability to maintain accurate records.
Responsibilities

  • Files cassettes.
  • Performs routine and special stains.
  • Labels and distributes slides to pathologists.
  • Files slides.
  • Performs and documents equipment maintenance and quality control measures.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
Physical and Environmental Demands

Requires occasional handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment; frequent exposure to biohazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood‑borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals. May involve occasional work beyond regular hours, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and other actions as needed for the role.
