Qualifications

• Formal education in chemical/biological sciences or medical laboratory tech.
• Ability to perform histology tasks with accuracy and timeliness.
• Proficient in documentation, labeling and compliance with protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tissue specimens using grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining (H&E, special stains, and IHC).
• Ensure proper identification, labeling, and documentation of specimens throughout all steps.
• Follow QC procedures, participate in proficiency testing and quality improvement initiatives.
• Operate and maintain histology instruments and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Support workflow by organizing slides, inventory, and general laboratory tasks.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient data and comply with HIPAA and safety policies.
