Job summary

Neda is seeking a Histotechnician - I to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination. You will perform grossing, embedding, sectioning, and staining (H&E, special stains, and IHC) while ensuring accuracy and adherence to laboratory protocols.

The role emphasizes quality control, OSHA/CLIA compliance, and maintaining equipment, documentation, and workflow efficiency in a healthcare laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Alternatively, completion of 60 semester hours (or equivalent), including 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses, or 24 hours in science with chemistry/biology.
• Minimum of one year of experience in an anatomic pathology laboratory preferred.
• Proficiency with basic computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite.
• Comprehensive training will be provided to support success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Process tissue specimens using histology techniques, including grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining per protocols and quality standards.
• Ensure proper specimen identification, labeling, and documentation throughout all preparation stages.
• Follow laboratory quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Operate, clean, and maintain histology instruments and equipment; monitor performance and report malfunctions.
• Identify and assist in resolving workflow challenges to support efficient lab operations and continuous improvement.
• Handle and dispose of chemicals and hazardous materials per biosafety and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information and laboratory data per HIPAA and policies.
