Responsibilities

• Prepares (grosses) tissue specimens for processing including fixation, dehydration, clearing, and embedding in paraffin wax.
• Operates tissue processors and embedding centers.
• Uses a microtome to cut thin sections of tissue from paraffin blocks and mounts onto slides.
• Prepares slides for staining and performs routine staining, by automation or manual methods.
• Maintains accurate records of procedures with traceability and compliance.
• Adheres to safety protocols and keeps the laboratory clean and organized.
