Job summary

Meridian is seeking a facilities maintenance professional to oversee and perform skilled repairs across plumbing, HVAC, electrical, carpentry, and general maintenance for historic facilities, grounds, and event spaces in Washington, DC. The role includes event support, safety compliance, and coordination with vendors.

Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and work in the evenings, Monday–Friday 2:00 PM–10:45 PM.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or similar roles.
• Direct experience in event centers and/or historic buildings is a plus.
• Apprenticeship or certifications in building trades are highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and perform preventive maintenance on building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, elevators).
• Respond to emergency maintenance requests and assess safety hazards.
• Perform minor repairs and routine maintenance tasks as needed.
• Coordinate with external vendors for maintenance and repair services.
• Assist with event setup, security, breakdown, and related duties.
