Job summary

CARIN Alliance seeks an experienced Histology Tech for a full-time role in our lab. You will receive and prepare tissue specimens for diagnostic examination and perform embedding, microtomy, and staining with strict adherence to safety and QA standards.

Qualified candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences and ASCP or AMT certification (or eligibility within 12 months). Prior histology experience is preferred, and collaboration with healthcare personnel is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Laboratory or Biological Sciences required.
• ASCP or AMT certification as Histology Technologist/Technician required or eligible to obtain certification within 12 months.
• Prior histology experience preferred.
• Ability to exercise critical and independent judgment and work with a diverse client population.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and preparing tissue specimens for diagnostic examination.
• Performing complex histological procedures such as grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining.
• Reviewing slide quality and maintaining laboratory equipment.
• Ensuring adherence to safety, quality control, and quality assurance standards.
• Disinfecting work areas, stocking supplies, and participating in lab procedures and quality improvement activities.
