Altasciences in Columbia, MO is seeking a Histology Technician/Technologist at all levels. You will help prepare and process tissue samples for histopathology, learn tissue trimming, embedding, microtomy, and routine H&E staining in a training-focused environment.

The role emphasizes safety, equipment maintenance, data entry, and collaboration with a Clinical Lab team. Training is provided; associates degree in science and 1+ year experience preferred, with HT (ASCP) eligibility within a year.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in science preferred.
• 1+ year of laboratory experience or training.
• HT (ASCP) eligible within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and document laboratory equipment use and upkeep.
• Keep a safe, clean, and orderly lab environment.
• Perform trimming of fixed tissues.
• Process paraffin-embedded tissue samples.
• Prepare slides using microtomy and stain with H&E.
• Troubleshoot equipment and minimize downtime.
• Data entry to inventory records and lab records.
