Job summary

Abbott in Redwood City, California is seeking a Histo Technologist I for a 12-month, onsite assignment. The role involves skilled cutting of patient specimens, quality control, and adherence to SOPs.

You will interact with sending sites and physicians while performing routine histology tasks under supervision. The position requires an Associate degree with 2+ years histology experience, and ASCP HT/HTL certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related field.
• 2+ years of histology lab experience with microtomy, embedding and routine staining.
• Ability to work without sponsorship in the United States.
• Demonstrated ability to perform essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stringent quality standards to ensure accurate test results and safety.
• Communicate issues to management for prompt resolution.
• Perform histology duties including sectioning and H&E staining under supervision.
• Process workflow queues and prepare reagents, solutions, and controls.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment; assist in samples and R&D as needed.
