Abbott in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Histotechnologist I to support the Cancer Diagnostics team. You will perform histology procedures, H&E staining, FFPE processing, and data entry in LIS/IMS with emphasis on quality and timely turnaround.

The role requires careful attention to safety and compliance with CLIA/CAP standards, and schedules may include evenings and weekends. This position offers training opportunities and a path to advanced histology responsibilities within a global healthcare

Qualifications

Successful completion of a NAACLS accredited Histotechnician program, 2+ years of laboratory experience or an Associate Degree with 2+ years in a scientific field.
Demonstrated ability to perform essential histology duties with accuracy and attention to safety.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

Label FFPE blocks, slides, and tubes with patient identifiers per SOP.
Perform routine sectioning, fixation, and processing for H&E staining of FF and FFPE samples.
Prepare and process DNA and RNA extraction per SOPs.
Accession and enter data into LIS/IMS.
Maintain histology equipment and documentation; conduct QC checks.
Assist pathologists and team members to ensure timely, high-quality processing.
