Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine histology activities, including sectioning and H&E staining under supervision.
• Perform macro-dissection of samples under supervision.
• Process patient specimens while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and quality control materials.
• Monitor workflow queues and ensure timely specimen processing.
• Perform and document equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Collaborate with pathologists, internal teams, and external customers.
• Support research and development studies and histopathology projects.
• Assist with process improvements, SOP development, and workflow optimization.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory quality standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation and communicate any quality-related concerns promptly.

• Tuesday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM
• Saturday: 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
• Initial Training (Until Signed Off):
• Monday – Friday: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Histotechnologist I (Medical Technologist) to join our client's laboratory team in Redwood City, California.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in histology laboratory procedures, including microtomy, tissue embedding, sectioning, and routine staining. This role involves processing patient specimens, maintaining quality standards, performing quality control checks, and collaborating with pathologists, laboratory teams, and external customers.

Shift Schedule

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate Degree required.
• 2+ years of experience in a histology laboratory.
• Hands-on competency in:
• Microtomy / Tissue Cutting
• Tissue Embedding
• Routine Staining
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field.
• ASCP Board of Certification:
• Histotechnologist (HTL)
