Job summary

Caris Life Sciences in Phoenix, AZ, is seeking a Histology Technologist I to assist pathology professionals with IHC, specimen processing, embedding, slide preparation, microtomy, and other high‑complexity tasks in our state‑of‑the‑art laboratory.

Under supervision, you will follow SOPs, document in LIS, maintain equipment, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver accurate, timely results. This role requires relevant education and hands-on histology/IHC experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science or related field, or equivalent clinical lab training program.
• HT/HTL (ASCP) certification eligible and preferred.
• 1+ years' experience in an IHC/histology laboratory or two years as Histology Technician Trainee, or 1 year trainee plus completion of NASC accredited Histology program.

Responsibilities

• Performs routine histology tasks; embedding, cutting, H&E staining and cover slipping.
• Performs high complexity testing, such as grossing, processing, IHC staining, and QC of slides.
• Maintains labeling accuracy and documents in LIS and logs.
• Maintains laboratory equipment and ensures proper operation; notifies if maintenance is needed.
• Communicates effectively with team and supports continuous improvement.
