KAISER in Rockville, Maryland seeks a Histology Technologist I to receive, prepare and process pathology specimens, performing grossing, processing, embedding, microtomy and staining in line with standards and policies. The role requires at least 1 year of histology experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and certification within 12 months (Histologic Technician or Histologic Technologist).

Qualificações

• Minimum one year of experience in a histology laboratory.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification as Histologic Technician or Histologic Technologist within 12 months of hire.
• Preferred: gross dissection and dictation experience; IHC experience; bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Perform technical services for surgical pathology specimens including accurate identification.
• Carry out histochemical and immunohistochemical staining.
• Assist with cutting and processing frozen sections.
• Troubleshoot assays and maintain related policies and preventive maintenance.
• Manage materials, inventory, and supplies; assist with invoices reconciliation.
• Maintain filing systems for specimens, slides, and service records.
• Dispose chemical hazardous waste per Kaiser policies.
• Resolve quality issues and coordinate with pathology staff.
• Assist Anatomic Pathology leadership as needed.
• Work schedule: 2:00 AM to 10:30 AM, Monday–Friday.
