Job summary

Independence Health System is seeking a Histology Technician to support pathology workflows. You will process specimens, assist in grossing with a pathologist, and ensure accurate documentation of blocks and slides.

The role requires careful handling, adherence to safety and quality standards, and proficient use of histology equipment. Staff will work Monday through Friday days, with no weekend or holiday shifts.

Qualifications

• Must be able to handle and process pathology specimens.
• Competent in grossing support and staining workflows.
• Accurate documentation of specimens, blocks and slides.

Responsibilities

• Accession and organize specimens to safeguard identification and integrity.
• Prepare for and assist in grossing with pathologist.
• Operate and maintain histology equipment per guidelines.
• Embed, cut and stain tissue sections.
• Demonstrate competency in routine histology tasks.
