Job summary

Montage Health seeks a certified histotechnician to perform routine histologic techniques, including tissue embedding, slide preparation, and quality control. This per diem role entails varied shifts, primarily from 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Monday to Friday, with no weekends.

The ideal candidate will possess a certified histologist license and relevant experience in clinical or pathology labs. An attractive pay range of $57.40 – $76.81 per hour is offered based on applicable experience.

Job Overview

Under the leadership of the department director and assistant director, the certified histotechnician performs all routine histologic techniques. The technician embeds, cuts, and prepares surgical and biopsy tissues, prepares slides under a microscope, and maintains quality control requirements. The technician handles automated H&E (Sakura), IHC (Ventana) and special stains (Artisan) and operates computerized laboratory equipment for fixation, dehydration and infiltration with wax, preserving specimens for pathologists. The technician performs related duties as assigned.

• Prepare and examine slides under the microscope to ensure QC requirements.

Work Hours & Compensation

Assigned work hours: Per Diem, varied days and shifts, primarily 4:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m., Monday–Friday, no weekends.

Position type: Per Diem.

Pay range: $57.40 – $76.81 per hour based on years of applicable experience. Shift differentials: hourly evening shift $3.18, hourly night shift $4.76.
