Job summary

Charles River Laboratories is seeking a Technician 1 - Histology for the 1st Shift Pathology Services Team in Mattawan, MI. The role involves learning tissue processing, embedding, microtomy, slide preparation, staining, and quality control under supervision.

The pay is $20.00 USD/hr. Education includes a high school diploma or GED, with a BA/BS preferred. Flexibility for extended hours and adherence to GLP/SOP/BOP is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; BA/BS preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Ability to learn a validated system and use office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue processing tasks including dissection, embedding, microtomy, staining, and packaging of tissue products.
• Prepare testing equipment and assist with maintenance and data recording.
• Ensure proper handling, tracking and shipping of tissues.
• Maintain GLP/SOP/BOP-compliant procedures and safety practices.

Education

High school diploma or GED

Bachelor’s degree in biological science (preferred)
