Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking an experienced Histology Laboratory Manager to oversee all administrative, technical, and fiscal aspects of the department. You will supervise staff, manage budgets, ensure QA/QC, and drive quality improvement across the laboratory operations.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field, 7 years of clinical lab experience, and strong leadership skills. Travel to other sites is required occasionally, and compliance with all regulatory standards is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college/university or equivalent experience.
• 7 years Clinical Laboratory experience.
• Intermediate computer level.
• Master's Degree in related field (preferred).
• 1 year Supervisory experience (preferred).
• CP-BC - Clinical Pathologist-Board Certified (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Interacts with co-workers, visitors and staff per Jefferson values.
• Leads Supervisors and Histotechnologists to maintain a high-functioning lab.
• Oversees performance management for supervisory, technical, and support staff.
• Ensures operational efficiencies through staffing and fiscal accountability.
• Establishes criteria and templates for acceptable analytical performance and QA/QC.
• Develops laboratory guidelines and SOPs for instrument use and QC.
• Prepares budget in consultation with director to allocate expenses.
• Plans and manages all lab activities in alignment with department and hospital goals.
• Performs other duties related to laboratory services as assigned.
