Job summary

Abbott Madison, WI is seeking a Histology Manager to lead the Cancer Diagnostics Histology Laboratory, driving quality, timeliness, and staff development across a high-volume operation.

You will partner with Customer Service, Pathology, and QA, oversee budgeting, staffing, and process improvements, and ensure regulatory compliance while mentoring a skilled team to deliver critical pathology services.

Qualifications

• Minimum BS in a relevant biological or clinical science discipline.
• 6+ years in lab operations and/or R&D.
• 3+ years in management with proven track record of scaling operations and staff development.
• Experience with LIMS and high-volume laboratory operations.
• Exceptional leadership, management and communication skills.
• Ability to manage projects and drive process improvements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Histology laboratory operations, ensuring timely processing of patient and study samples.
• Lead and develop Histology staff, manage staffing and training.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Customer Service, Pathology, QA) to improve quality and efficiency.
• Develop and implement process and quality improvements to meet regulatory requirements.
• Prepare for inspections and ensure ongoing readiness of the Histology Lab.
